        <title><![CDATA['Rivalry' is Alive and Well in Lowell]]></title>

        <description><![CDATA[History was made when Abraham Lincoln took on his political rival Stephen Douglas in a series of heated debates in 1858. The rivalry forms the basis of Norman Corwin's play The Rivalry, which UMass Lowell presents as its first theatrical offering at the new Inn and Conference Center Oct. 29 in two free performances. The 10:30 a.m. show is for school groups and students. The 7 p.m. performance is open to the general public. ]]></description>
