General Summary (Purpose) of Position
The Vice Provost for Undergraduate Education, as a member of the Provost’s senior management team, will work with the academic deans and enrollment management on all matters pertaining to undergraduate education; overseeing initiatives in Learning Communities and strengthening experiential learning, including cooperative education, service learning, knowledge discovery, and international experiences. Will also oversee the Learning Centers and incorporation of educational technology into the curriculum; the operation of the Honors Program; and articulation with other institutions; as well as respond to undergraduate student appeals and grievances regarding academic matters.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
• Earned Doctorate.
• Minimum of six years experience in teaching and research at institutions of higher education.
• Presently at the rank of Tenured Associate Professor or higher.
• Established record of excellence in teaching and scholarly productivity.
• Demonstrated collegial and collaborative approach.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving and negotiation skills.
• Commitment to developing and working with diverse student and faculty population.
