General Summary (Purpose) of Position
A tenure-track faculty position in Radiological Sciences is available at the Assistant Professor level, or higher, to begin September 2009.  As a member of a Ph.D. granting department offering degrees in Physics with a Radiological Sciences option, and Biomedical Engineering and Biotechnology with a Medical Physics/Radiological Sciences option, the applicant must have demonstrated the ability to teach at the graduate level in medical physics.

Salary commensurate with experience.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
• Earned Doctorate in Radiological Sciences, Medical Physics, Health Physics or closely related field and a strong background in the physical sciences with good ability in applied mathematics, including statistics.
• Demonstrated expertise in diagnostic medical physics including nuclear medicine and therapeutic medical physics.
• Working knowledge of computer software useful in medical physics desirable.
• Certification by the American Board of Radiology and/or American Board of Health Physics desirable.
• Demonstrated ability teaching medical physics at the graduate level.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Commitment to develop and sustain an externally funded research program.
• Publications documenting research activity in scholarly journals.
• Ability and commitment to work with diverse student and faculty population.
