Description:

General Summary (Purpose) of Position
The Department of Plastics Engineering at UMASS Lowell invites nominations and applications for a tenure track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor to begin fall 2009.

Applicants are invited in the Plastics Engineering field in the areas of plastics processing and plastics processing theory, injection molding processing and process control, computer aided design and simulation, injection mold design and computer numerical machining, and injection molding machine design.

Salary is commensurate with record and qualifications.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
• Earned Doctorate in Plastics or Polymer Engineering or closely related areas is required.
• Academic experience as a tenure stream or non-tenure faculty member, is strongly preferred
• Demonstrated teaching ability at the undergraduate and graduate levels is preferred.
• Record of scholarly publications which demonstrates potential success as a researcher required.
• Demonstrated ability to write proposals and obtain external grant funding is preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to work with diverse student and faculty population is preferred.
