Description:

This nine-month tenure-track position will teach courses in Clinical Laboratory Instrumentation as well as Physiological Chemistry and Organic Reactions and Structures, as well as have responsibilities coordinating respective teaching laboratories. Develop industry relations for Clinical Sciences option students for senior research projects/internship programs with biotechnology, biomedical device, and pharmaceutical companies. Supervise student research on campus, advise students, conduct research and pursue external funding, and participate in faculty governance and professional service.

The Department of Clinical Laboratory and Nutritional Sciences is an academic unit in the School of Health and Environment. The Department offers a Bachelor of Science degree in Clinical Laboratory Sciences with options in Clinical Sciences, Medical Technology and Nutritional Sciences.  The Department also offers a Master of Science Program in Clinical Laboratory Sciences, a combination BS/MS program and a Graduate Certificates in Clinical Pathology, Nutritional Sciences and Public Health Laboratory Sciences. 

Salary and rank commensurate with qualifications and experience

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
• Earned Doctorate in Biomedical or Clinical Chemistry or related discipline
• Clinical Laboratory Sciences or Medical Technology national Board Certification or eligibility strongly recommended (i.e. ASCP, NCA).
• Commitment to teaching excellence and scholarly activity.
• Track record in research, grants and publication productivity strongly suggested.
• Demonstrated ability teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels
• Commitment to develop and sustain an externally funded research program.
• Demonstrated potential for publications in scholarly journals.
• Demonstrated ability working with diverse student and faculty population.
