Description:

General Summary (Purpose) of Position
Analytical Chemistry & Forensic Science Faculty Position. The University of Massachusetts Lowell invites applications for one tenure track faculty position at the Assistant Professor rank in the Department of Chemistry to start in January, 2009 or September 2009. A Ph.D. in analytical chemistry is required to enhance an interdisciplinary forensic program at the undergraduate level where the successful applicant will participate in a B.S. in Chemistry – Forensic Science Option and continue its development. The candidate will develop an active, high quality, funded research program in the area of analytical or forensic chemistry. Initial teaching will focus on developing forensic courses which compliment the program ensuring its growth potential.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
• Earned Doctorate in Analytical Chemistry as applied to Forensic Science
• Commitment to develop and sustain an externally funded research program.
• Demonstrated potential for publications in scholarly journals.
• Demonstrated ability working with diverse student and faculty population.
